So many are struggling from a challenge with their mental health, putting us in an epidemic of insurmountable size.
We spend so much time as a society trying to improve our own physical health that we forget about our own mental health. Investing time into improving our inner wellbeing is one of the key things that we can do to grow our happiness and long-term fulfilment.
We often hide our true persona to appear happy and successful, whether it be around friends, on social media, or at work. These masks are not real and can be counterproductive over time.
Our inner happiness arises from people seeing us and experiencing us for who we really are. Choosing to connect and spend time reflecting on our inner care helps us to find our unique balance and inner confidence. Consciously spending a moment an hour throughout our days checking in with how we feel can make an enormous difference. Ask yourself "am I in the now?". Are you thoughtful of your mood, your reactions, your heart rate, your levels of happiness? Or do you get through your lists and emails or shift and collapse in a heap?
When we do things that make us happy, we discover who we really are, we find our true and best selves. Invest time into crafting, writing, reading by the river, walking in the woods, meditating with friends, whatever it is that you feel passionate about. When we bring that version of us wherever we go – including the workplace – we will realise the masks are not needed.
Find meaning and purpose in being you. Choose not to let your mood be affected by things beyond your control. Enjoy your like of other people and express your belief in the best of them. Be open, care for yourself by feeling imaginative and stepping out of routine. Try new activities and experiences. Care for yourself to maintain your confidence. Express yourself and create a sense of community and belonging by caring for and being you.
#BeYourselfAtWork and feel the benefits as you grow.
Too many people are stuck on life’s treadmill, struggling with issues like imposter syndrome, not knowing where their true value lies or how to make the best of it.
We think that finding out what makes you special and unique, will ultimately help you to discover your purpose and what makes you happy.
Imagine a working world that is not only inclusive, but actively celebrates the value in each individual’s uniqueness. However, working environments don’t always provide the space or opportunity to live true to your uniqueness. We want to change the culture of work, for you, and everyone around you.
We call on you to join our growing community, who are learning to experience the real them, and sharing this with others. We want you to help us make a difference, and make sure all working environments are safe, happy places for everyone.
"The world is a stage we walk upon. We are all in a way fictional characters who write ourselves with our beliefs."
Louis Theroux
